Discover the quieter side of Stockholm in this slow summer walk through Södermalm’s historic streets.

I begin my stroll on Swedenborgsgatan (Swedenborg Street) – a peaceful, café-lined lane named after the mystic and scientist Emanuel Swedenborg. From there, I turn onto Sankt Paulsgatan (Saint Paul's Street), home to historic church architecture and a gateway to Mariatorget.
Next, I step onto the lively Götgatan (Göta Street), once part of the medieval Göta highway heading south from Stockholm. After that, I wander along Folkungagatan (Folkung Street), named after the influential medieval Folkung dynasty, and known today for its urban buzz and indie cafés.
Continuing along Renstiernas gata (Renstierna Street), I head east toward one of Södermalm’s best viewpoints. I end the walk with a calm moment by the water — city sounds fade, and the skyline opens up.
