Inside a Ship-Like Designer Home by the Sea

On Amager's waterfront, The Ship is a gable-structured, architectural home majestically scouting the waters between Denmark and Sweden. Through a strong emphasis on materiality – from Italian Provence stone to ID-specified natural slate – the house has focus on the design detail and provides a lovely home with engaging split levels, double fireplace, terraces, and an incredible iron staircase. Conceptualized like a ship, the architect Søren Stærmose took inspiration from the vessels on the ocean and implemented the idea by creating decks and walkways – just like you would experience when sailing on the sea.
