Completed in 1964 for the Japan Olympic Games, the Tokaido Shinkansen was the first high speed rail line in the world. Built to relieve the congested original Tokaido main line, Shinkansen connected Tokyo and Osaka, a distance of 320 miles in just 2.5 hours. 60 years later it still runs with incredible speed, frequency, and punctuality. In this video you'll see dozens of Tokaido Shinkansens in a variety of locations along with the Tohoku Shinkansen being shown making stops in Saitama. Please enjoy!
