Take a journey with me as I head out on Highway 36 to Six Rivers National Forest in Mad River, CA.

Starting at Alton, CA on Highway 101, where Humboldt's historic Alton Junction, one of Humboldt's most historic, and important railroad junctions in the County. Alton served as a passenger and logging hub as part of the Northwest Pacific Railroad system. Much of the tracks are still visible today.

I also stop at Cheatham Grove, which is part of the Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park and walk the giant grove to also check out the route of where the famous Speeder Chase scene was filmed for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Highway 36 passes through Bridgeville and Dinsmore before leading to Mad River, CA where I end my ride off road in the Six Rivers National Forest.

It's still winter season on the North Coast of California and in Humboldt, we've gotten our yearly share of snow in the high county. Just another part of Humboldt that makes our home so unique.
