A New species of Pygmy Gecko has been discovered in the Northern Cape by a team of four researchers. South Africa's newest reptile is the Gravel Pygmy Gecko or Goggia Sabula, by its scientific name. The Gecko was first spotted by herpetologist Courtney Hundermark in December 2020 while searching for reptiles at the base of a rocky hill near Klein Pella.
