The Tragic Story Of Drummer Jim Gordon

By the mid-70s, Jim Gordon was among rock's greatest drummers. He laid down feverish beats with precision and finesse for The Beach Boys, John Lennon, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Frank Zappa, Steely Dan, Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson, Joe Cocker, among others.

But after the horrific event that took place on the night of June 3rd, 1983, Gordon's name would be practically erased from rock history. Amidst a psychotic episode driven by schizophrenia, Gordon murdered his mother. He was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison, remaining incarcerated until his death in 2023.
