Swanage Beach & Piers, Dorset - Sunrise + Black and White Photography

At the start of the trip around Dorset to get new photos and scout locations for my upcoming workshops, I begin in beautiful Swanage. The first morning greeted me with a fabulous sunrise which I captured over Swanage beach and groyne, and also over the lovely old cobbled Banjo Jetty.

A few days later I return and photograph the old pier from the new pier on a windy, cloudy day. Here I show you how I use a long exposure to smooth out the sea and turn the scene into a minimalist high key black and white photograph. I also find a different viewpoint where I could get part of the old pier with Old Harry Cliffs in the background.
