One of the most important concepts they teach in law school is optics. What things look like aren't always what they are. That cuts both ways.
This lawyer took her clients' rent money and escrowed it into an account. Her own account. That's a problem, beacuse even if she didn't mean to steal the money, it sure looks like she could have.
It doesn't help that what she's doing with the money in that escrow account is absolutely illegal.
Judge Simpson hates this lawyer, and I can't believe she's still barred. He's called her out for similar questionable behavior before, and this time it's worse.
I'll follow up with any disbarment hearings she faces. It's gonna happen sooner or later!
