गावरान खर्डा चिकन करण्यासाठी लागणारे साहित्य
• ५०० ग्रॅम करी कट चिकन
• १ टिस्पून आलं-लसूण पेस्ट
• १/४ टिस्पून हळद
• चवीनुसार मीठ
• बारीक चिरलेली कोथिंबीर (ऐच्छिक)
• अर्ध्या लिंबाचा रस
• १ टिस्पून तेल
• ७~८ हिरव्या मिरच्या
• १०~१२ लसूण पाकळ्या
• २ टेबलस्पून किसलेलं सुकं खोबरं
• कोथिंबीर
• ३ टेबलस्पून तेल
• १/२ टिस्पून जिरं
• १ कप बारीक चिरलेला कांदा
• चिमूटभर मीठ
• जरुरीनुसार पाणी
• १/२ टीस्पून गरम मसाला
• १ टीस्पून धनेपूड
• १/४ टीस्पून लाल तिखट

Ingredients:
• 500 gm curry cut Chicken
• 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• Salt to taste
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves (Optional)
• 1/2 Lemon juice
• 1 tsp Oil
• 7~8 Green chilies
• 10~12 Garlic cloves
• 2 tbsp shredded dry Coconut
• Coriander leaves
• 3 tbsp Oil
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1 cup finely chopped Onion
• A pinch of Salt
• Water as needed
• 1/2 tsp Garam masala
• 1 tsp Coriander powder
• 1/4 tsp Red chili powder
• Salt to taste
Method:
• Wash chicken really good and add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt, coriander leaves and
lemon juice.
• Mix everything well together and marinate it for about an hour.
• Heat up oil in a skillet and add green chilies and garlic.
• Mix well and fry it well together.
• When the mixture is almost roasted, add dry coconut and mix well.
• Roast it well together until coconut gets light golden color.
• Turn the gas off and let the mixture cool down.
• Pound it well together into paste in mortar and pestle and add coriander leaves.
• Pound it well together into as fine paste as possible. Thecha or kharda is ready.
• You can use blender to make thecha.
• Heat up oil on medium heat in a pan and add cumin seeds.
• When cumin seeds splutter, add onion and salt and fry well until onion gets light golden color.
• When the onion is almost roasted, add the thecha and fry it well together.
• Add marinated chicken and fry it well together.
• Add water and cover the pan with a lid.
• Cook the chicken for about 10 minutes.
• Add garam masala, coriander powder, red chili powder and salt and mix everything well together.
• Add water and cover the pan with a lid.
• Steam the chicken on low to medium heat for about 10-15 minutes until chicken is cooked well.
• Open the lid and mix well. Check if the chicken is cooked well. Gavran kharda chicken is ready.
• it goes best with steamed rice or alni bhat.
