VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction
[0:29] The yarn
presoak overnight in plain tap water
[2:41] The dye colors
Caribbean Blue, Dark Navy, and Royal Purple
10 g of each of the three colors dissolved in 1L for 1% stock solutions
[5:28] The dyebath
8 cups of water + 2 T white vinegar
Keep an eye on level because the water level can make a difference in how the colorway comes out
400 g yarn
heat it up
[7:44] Dyeing the yarn
Hold 8 cups of water + 2 T white vinegar. Use this to dilute dyes as needed to keep pH consistent
1/4 cup (60 mL) of dark navy dye dissolved in 500 mL
1/4 cup (60 mL) of royal purple dissolved in 500 mL
let it heat for 15 min before flipping
[10:04] Flipping the yarn to dye the other side
Flip the yarn over
1/2 cup (120 mL) Caribbean blue in 1 L of water. pour all over the top
heat for 30 min.
poke down any patches of white sticking up
[15:25] Yarn mops
[17:21] Dyeing more
reset the dyebath after 2 batches in one pan
[20:22] Washing the yarn
[24:27] The dry yarn
