SMETS Technology: ARC3000SZ the world's largest runway rubber removal system to Dubai Airport

SMETS technology delivered ARC3000®, the world's largest runway rubber removal system to Dubai Airport in 02-2021, consisting of a tractor with a semi-trailer with a working width of 3.000 mm and a total tank volume of 37 m³.

Why ARC3000® is the largest? Dubai airport is a very busy airport that has a very short cleaning time and therefore needs larger machines with a very high capacity to remove quickly and efficiently the rubber on the runways. SMETS technology accepted the challenge and created the largest tank capacity of any system available in the world, to assist the huge airport of Dubai, working continuously for 3.5 hours (210 minutes) at a time.

The operational performances are as below:
100% rubber removed up to 2.400m²/h
90% rubber removed up to 3.700m²/h
