Cutting Mountain Trail through Rock Ledge!

Another weekend mission success with the John Deere 655C Track Loader on the Missouri farm! Join us for today's mission as we cut a new section of trail on our Southern Missouri Ozarks mountain property. Today we are cutting a new trail section that will connect one of our main ridgetop fields down a mountain side-cut through a rock ledge and then level the trail out to make it safe for riding all the way down to the bottom. Currently there is a 'rough' trail that I punched open this winter with my mini excavator but it was still very steep and dangerous. But after today's trail we'll have another new trail that connects up with other trails on the property, which will then connect to another trail system past the waterfalls which will be many miles long. The asphault section is only on the steepest part of our driveway but our logger assured me that if I cut a new road alongside of it that the loggint trucks with be able to make use of it! I call it a bulldozer but other's might not agree but I'll tell you what this thing can move some serious dirt in short order! Uphill and on wet dirt as well!

We need more room! Maybe it's time for a new barn build or a metal carport to store all of our machine implements and get them out of the sun and rain! Join me for today's machine equipment episode of land clearing with our John Deere 655C highlifter bulldozer (aka crawler and track loader) as I clear roughly a half acre of overgrown woods in a matter of minutes. This machine is a game changer and force multiplier when it comes to clearing trees, cutting new roads and building ponds in the woods, oh and other dirt projects as well such as grading for a new pole barn!

This John Deere 655c crawler was one of the two machines that he used for the land clearing project. And after much thought and planning ahead we decided that this John Deere dozer would be a good equipment investment for our Missouri farm as there are so many land projects that need to be done, and I felt that this machine would eventually pay for itself down the road by putting it to use for land clearing projects, cutting new roads, making new food plot clearings and digging some new ponds as well as other land grading projects as well. So today Trevor is going to do an introduction and walk around video of this awesome earth moving machine and give me some maintenance tips as well as some instruction on how to operate this beast of a machine!
