Dead inside. At first glance we may be referring to the muted qualities of these water miscible oil paints when worked on a very absorbent surface like the watercolor paper I use. When you dig in a little deeper, you'll start to discover that Fer's sense of humor, along with her reactions to my unsuccessful attempts at being funny, are also quite lifeless. Seeing Samu and Fer grow up is something utterly heartbreaking but it's also fascinating to have the chance to see how their personalities develop. Today's painting is Fer just being Fer, which brought to mind some wonderful court jester paintings of the past.
