Join me on my favorite mountain for another off-the-beaten-path adventure as I climb the SE Ridge of Longs Peak, dubbed "The Staircase" by Estes Park locals. This variation of the Beaver-Skyline Traverse skips the long rappel into The Notch by using the Loft and Clark's Arrow routes to access the ridge. It's a beautiful route that provides stunning views of the SE and SW aspects of this peak, including views of The Notch, Keplinger's Couloir, Chasm Lake, Mount Lady Washington, and Wild Basin. This route requires some easy fifth class climbing, so either bring a friend and a rope, or make sure you're proficient at soloing difficult terrain with severe exposure!
