Spyscape Experience and Museum: Everything You Need to Know About Your Visit!

Today we are at Spyscape! This is a fun, interactive museum in Manhattan close to the 57th St. 7th Avenue subway station. There is a museum component while the experiences consist of several challenges. You’ll receive a bracelet to track your responses at the question stations. Here you’ll find personality questionnaires, math challenges, and risk assessments which will be combined with your performance at spy challenges to assess your spy type at the end.

You can purchase tickets in person, for $54 per adult and $47 for kids, but I recommend you get tickets ahead of time. On the Spyscape website, tickets are $5 cheaper. If you want a further discount, I recommend checking out Agoda, an online travel platform offering affordable deals to many experiences, hotels, flights, and NYC activities.

You’ll learn about enigma machines, Alan Turing, the Second World War, Robert Hanssen’s life as a double agent, Edward Snowden, good and bad hackers, Virginia Hall, and the Cold War. Spy challenges consist of encryption, deception, surveillance, and special ops.

At the end, your spy type is revealed. There are 10 spy types you can be classified into. On the Spyscape website, you can read more about what each role means. At the end, you’ll exit through the gift shop. Here you’ll find interesting books, games, r-shirts, and other accessories. Each section is organized by your spy type. You can take as much time as you’d like visiting the museum. If you thoroughly go through everything, it will take 3 hours to see it all.
