The Windrush Anchor Heritage Education Programme (WAHEP) is a 21st-century cultural institution committed to preserving and promoting the legacy of the Windrush Pioneers and their descendants.
Activities also include archiving, educational exchanges, festivals, murals, music, sports, intergenerational storytelling, integrating systems for mental health and wellbeing, youth empowerment, and advancing cultural esteem.
The involvement in ceremonial traditions, such as the annual Windrush Anchor Flag raising aboard HMS Belfast in London to celebrate Caribbean Heroes Week, is a key milestone in acknowledging the contributions of Caribbean veterans in collaboration with The Forgotten Generations.
WAHEP’s themes, "Passing the Baton" and "Time is Now," honour the Windrush Century (1948–2048) through transformational initiatives such as SPECA and STrEAM, which are designed to promote inclusion and sustainable livelihoods.
