Welcome to The Trafford Centre, one of the most spectacular shopping malls in the world. The Trafford Centre opened on 10th September 1998 after a 27 month construction period. There are about 200 shops, restaurants and other services in the centre, spread over 3 floors, with some of the world's biggest brands as well as many high end luxury retailers. At the time of opening, The Trafford Centre was the largest shopping centre in the UK and one of the largest in Europe. The Orient is the UK's largest food court, with decorations intended to resemble a cruise ship. An extension was added in 2008, then known as 'Barton Square'. A roof was added in 2020 and the area is now known as Trafford Palazzo. Look around and you'll see ornate murals and statues in pretty much every area! The centre is also home to one of only three Selfridges outlets in the world (the other two are central Manchester and London) as well as one of the only 'true' IMAX cinemas in the UK.
