Thomas Benson, PhD, claims he can take mitochondria from a 90-year-old, reverse their age by 70 years inside a so-called “external bioreactor,” and inject them back into the body to make a 90-year-old move and function like a 60-year-old.
He raised $4 million to reverse mitochondria in a blender.
The only problem?
Mitochondria aren’t 90 years old. They turn over every 10–30 days. That’s a biological fact. He’s reverse-aging an organelle that’s only two weeks old — calling it a miracle, asking for millions in funding, and selling science fiction as if it were biology.
He even claims mice became 30% stronger and 30% smarter from these “rejuvenated” mitochondria — as if muscle power and intelligence depend on spinning organelles in a lab.
