The pinnacle of off-road racing. This 105 mile, 7 hour long race will challenge you. It challenged me!! Everything from the prep leading up to the race, to actually riding on private land with virgin singletrack, made this the best race I've ever competed in. It featured hillclimbs, trees, trees, branches and trees. The small town of Idaho City has so much character. The race had us ride uphill over 17,000 ft, and back down. (not that high in elevation, but adding up all the feet we climbed and descended in total) It was almost 90 degrees that day, which made it doubly important to manage your energy. Unfortunately I forgot spare batteries for the GoPro, so I was only able to film the special tests. I threw in a couple clips of some of the Transfer sections, but the race included a lot of tough riding and carnage that was not captured on camera. I'm already making plans for next year, this one is a must do!!
