After hearing a beautiful performance of this piece for piano four hands, I thought: “It would be wonderful to play this by myself.” So I started searching for a solo version – and that’s how I discovered Robert Keller’s wonderful arrangement. 🕵🏻♂️🎼
Originally composed for orchestra, this dance later appeared in a four-hand version (arranged by Dvořák himself). Marked Allegretto grazioso, it sways with tender lyricism and Bohemian elegance 💃 – a gentle contrast to the more fiery dances in the set.
Robert Keller (1828–1891), a close friend of both Dvořák and Brahms, created this solo version to bring the music into more intimate settings while staying true to its spirit.
