Hello everyone and welcome back to the series of Forza drag races. This time on Forza Motorsport 7, we have the 2018 Bugatti Chiron going up against a slightly lighter version of its own, the Chiron Sport. But before we line them up, lets have a look at their specifications:
Lets start off with the 2018 Bugatti Chiron. Named after monagasque driver Louis Chiron, the Bugatti Chiron as an AWD luxurious high-performance hypercar that was first shown at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show for the model year 2018. The car is also meant to be the successor to the car that was once known as the fastest car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron, and also the Chiron is based on the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo, and it actually shares the name from the 1999 Bugatti 18/3 Chiron. Nontheless, the Chiron retained the 8.0L Quad-Turbocharged W16 from the Veyron, but it has recived heavy updates, making it the most powerful engine variant of its predecessor. With a power output of 1,479 bhp at 6,700 rpm and 1,180 lb.ft of torque starting from 2,000 to 6,000 rpm. The Chiron also utilizes a carbon fiber body like its predecessor, independent suspension and a Haldex all-wheel drive system. A 7-Speed dual clutch transmission that sends the power to all its wheels, and a Kerb weight of 1,996 kg, making it accelerate from 0-60 in just 2.6 seconds and a capability of doing a top speed of 289 mph, but the Chiron has been electronically limited to 261 mph (420 kmh) due to safety reasons and mainly arising from the tires as the manufacturer concluded that no tyre currently manufactured would be able to handle the stress at the top speed the Chiron is capable of achieving.
Next to the Chiron we have its track-focused version, the Bugatti Chiron Sport, unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Mechanically, the Chiron Sport is identical to its regular counterpart generating 1479 bhp from a 8.0L Quad-Turbocharged W16 but is 18 kg lighter (1978 kg Kerb weight) due to the extensive use of carbon fiber and utilizes a stiffer suspension to increase the cornering ability of the car while maintaining its grand touring characteristics.
Now with all the important specs given, lets line these two variations down the straight and find out the results!
