During the Cattle Drive - known in Appenzellerland as Öberefahre - farmers lead their livestock to the alpine pastures for the summer season.
Many farmers follow tradition by walking from their home farms to the alp, accompanied by Sennen, boys, and girls, passing through villages and hamlets on foot.
On one of the first Saturdays of the season, several farming families made their way through Urnäsch, heading toward Schwägalp with their cows and goats.
