OUTBACK TRACK leading to PARADISE | Lawn Hill, SAVANNAH WAY, Caravan Travel Couple

Welcome back!
This week we’re heading into Lawn Hill National Park (Boodjamulla) with our Next Gen Ford Ranger and Network RV Caravan, continuing our adventure along the Savannah Way in outback Queensland. The road in is rough with plenty of water crossings, but that’s all part of the fun when you’re 4WD touring Australia.
We pull up at Adele’s Grove, a beautiful dog-friendly campground just outside the park. It’s an unreal spot down by the water — that classic aqua-blue colour you have to see to believe. After seeing the flood damage from the past few years, it’s hard to imagine how high the water must have been. An afternoon swim is the perfect cool-off, and while there are a few freshwater crocs, it’s mostly safe for a dip — even Juice jumps in!
The next morning we hire a kayak and paddle up the Lawn Hill Gorge — absolutely stunning from start to finish. When we reach the waterfalls at the end, we hop in for a swim in a true outback paradise.
After exploring Lawn Hill, we make our way north to Burketown. We hose off the mud, check out the Burketown Bore, the old meatworks, a creek with a massive saltwater crocodile, and finish the day at the Nicholson Causeway, surrounded by birdlife — the perfect end to another Savannah Way adventure.
