In this brief history, Linda Catanese Cockrell shares the origins of her family's grocery business. Her grandparents initially opened a store in Cottonport, Louisiana, before relocating to Natchez, where they leased a building and became merchants. With five children, they eventually moved to Natchitoches. There, they operated a dry goods store and later expanded it by converting part of the space into a grocery store. They also added a meat market, creating a full-service neighborhood store by around 1932. This marked the beginning of a family legacy in local commerce.
