Turning through the corners and hollers, you never know what youre going to find in this place. Abandoned, poverty stricken, and left to ruin is what comes to mind when I got here. Jenkinjones is located in McDowell County, West Virginia with a population of about 102. A very isolated area deep within the Appalachian Mountains, it used to be a flourishing coal camp area with many businesses and family homes. Now, very little of it is left. Many buildings and homes are uninhabitable and falling over. What's left is a grim reminder of what used to be. I do however still find this a beautiful and charmingly scenic area. Let's take a drive and check it out.
