Poseidon - how to work with him

Poseidon

The following guidelines are based mostly on personal experiences and information gotten from Poseidon himself. There is plenty of material out there with information on him in a historical and mythological sense, this is a short profile on him in a spiritual/magical sense.

Poseidon is an ancient Greek god of the sea (and Earth as well, keep in mind a large part of this planet is made up of water), storms, earthquakes, horses, and of course the trident. He is a powerful Olympian deity, with Chthonic and Atlantean roots. Known in myths for his temper and rage, he is definitely a force to be reckoned with, after all the deep seas and oceans and their currents aren't suitable for dabbling. However he was also called upon for safe travels, and as such he could also be of good use helping you recognise and deal with obstacles on your path. Of course he has strong ties to Atlantis and may help you get into the Atlantean current and teach you about the Atlantean Empire as well.
While I wouldn't suggest Poseidon as a beginners spirit, that doesn't mean beginners can't work with him at all.

as with any spirit, always be respectful, be hospitable, do not try anything with them that you wouldn't do to an honoured guest in your house either -
