Anthony Joshua In Deadly Crash+ Wike Replies Makinde+Peter Obi Says He’ll Run For President|OjyOkpe

British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua was involved in a violent car crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, with the governments of Ogun and Lagos States confirming the incident and revealing that two people died when the car collided with a stationary truck.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun confirmed the identity of the two people killed in the crash as Joshua's close friends and colleagues, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghazi.

Their passing was made more tragic as videos circulated online showing them with Joshua hours before the crash, with Federal Road Safety Corps blaming excessive speed and wrongful overtaking for the fatal crash.

The President's Special Adviser said President Tinubu personally called Joshua to convey his condolences over the death of his two associates, with the President also speaking with Joshua's mother.

In another development in Kwara State, a video showing a group of men attacking women protesting constant terrorist attacks sparked outrage online.

Meanwhile, families of five construction workers kidnapped in Kwara State two weeks ago are pleading with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to intervene as bandits demanded a ₦500 million ransom.

In another development, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike vehemently denied claims that he pledged to President Tinubu to sabotage the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections during an end of the year press conference in Port Harcourt.

Wike also clarified that he remains a member of the PDP, telling politicians that defection will not guarantee them party tickets.

It comes as former Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi, announced over the weekend in an X space that he will be on the ballot for President in the 2027 elections.
