Speedball 2 is one of the best sequels ever made, and the original Speedball still holds up as a good game today. But the classic Amiga (and Atari ST) series saw some highs before crashing back down to earth - the XBLA Speedball 2 might have brought Brutal Deluxe back to the fore for a bit, but other than that… well, Speedball is dead, and it’s not been properly good since 1990 (and a remake of the 1990 game, at least). Here’s a look back at the rise and fall of Speedball, Speedball 2, and the other Speedballs I don’t even want to mention.
