The Sabbath is a holy day set apart by God for rest and reflection. It’s a time to pause from work, honour God, and remember His covenant with His people (Deuteronomy 5:12-14, Ezekiel 20:19-20). The Bible emphasizes the importance of keeping the Sabbath holy, as seen in Deuteronomy, Exodus, and Isaiah. It’s a day to delight in the Lord (Isaiah 58:13-14), avoid worldly distractions (Nehemiah 10:31), and focus on spiritual renewal (Hebrews 4:4). The Sabbath is also a reminder of God’s provision, as He provides for our needs and calls us to trust Him (Exodus 16:29-30). By observing the Sabbath, we acknowledge God’s sovereignty and deepen our relationship with Him (Isaiah 56:2,4,6).
