North Western State Trail - Cycling the 32-Mile Michigan Rail Trail from Petoskey to Mackinaw City

Join me as I explore my first trail trail bike ride in Michigan. The trail stretches 32-miles from Petoskey to Mackinaw City. This splendid route takes me through several small towns, beautiful countryside and wooded areas, through and along wildlife preserves, and briefly along a Round Lake, right outside of Petoskey. It's mostly gravel made up of larger stone and some hard pack fine gravel closer to Mackinaw City. There is asphalt at the beginning out of Petoskey, through Pellston, and again coming into Mackinaw. At one point, I encounters a few flies that begin dive bombing me. I may have overreacted somewhat but the ensuing crash and my reactions made for an interesting segment in the video. After some research, I believe the flies were either a species of deer fly or flower fly (syrphids).
