Chasing Fall Fish in Shallow Creeks | Laird Bayou Adventure!

Welcome back to Panhandle Saltwater Pursuit! 🌊

Today’s mission took us deep into Laird Bayou, near Callaway, Florida, where we set out to chase the Fall migration of saltwater fish pushing into the creeks and backwaters.

The plan was simple—explore the inner creek system and target redfish and trout feeding on the move. But as most anglers know, things don’t always go according to plan. The tides dropped faster than expected, and we couldn’t make it all the way to the back of the creeks because of a downed tree!

Instead of calling it quits, we adapted—switching tactics, changing spots, and finding fish in places we didn’t expect. It turned into a day about resilience, reading the water, and making the most of what the bayou gave us.

Tides/Conditions: Incoming tide; Temperatures ranged from 50 - 74 degrees; Wind was 8-10 mph (gusts up to 12-14 mph) coming from the North.
