How to Tie Dye a SIDEWINDER SCRUNCH T-Shirt in 1 HOUR! - Complete Step by Step Tutorial

Today I am demonstrating how to tie-dye a SIDEWINDER SCRUNCH T-Shirt in 1 HOUR using the H.W.I. (Hot Water Irrigation Technique) tie-dye method. This is a step by step tie-dye tutorial video where I cover the entire process beginning with the drawing of the design on to the shirt. After that I pleat fold the design line and bind the fold with rubber bands. To finish up the tying portion of the process, I then scrunch and rubber band the remaining material of the shirt.
Now that the shirt is all tied up it's time to apply the fiber reactive procion dye powders (colors chosen are displayed in the video) directly on top of the shirt. After that I apply a thin layer of soda ash on top of the dye powders for vibrancy, and then head on over to the sink to apply the hot water. For proper hot water application I first use a spray bottle for a light mist to help saturate the dye without it blowing all over, and then I use my garden pump sprayer that has been filled with water heated to 160 degrees Fahrenheit for proper saturation.
For the final steps I first let the shirt sit 20 minutes, then give it a good rinse, and jump right on into the reveal our new tie-dye SIDEWINDER SCRUNCH T-Shirt. I hope you enjoy and as always...Happy Tie Dyeing!
