Saab 9-3 my 98-02 instrument cluster light repair.
In this video: tools needed for the job, removal of steering wheel w/airbag, sid, radio, dashboard panel instrument cluster. Changing bulbs and installing everything back together.
Tools:
-22mm socket and ratchet with extension
-T25 and T30 torx driver
-flat head and PH2 screw driver
-radio handles, nails or other suitable sticks to remove radio
-multimeter for testing bulbs. 9 volt battery or something similar can be used also.
REMOVE CAR BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE TAKING AIRBAG OUT!
Cluster has markings for backlights so they are easy to identify.
I have manual gearbox without TCS so i used TCS, Check gearbox, WINTER etc. bulbs to replace backlights. Bulb comes out from the holder and you can also replace it with new T5 12v 1.2W bulb.
Be careful with airbag spiral not to turn it while you have steering wheel off. The right position is 2 turns back from clockwise stop position when wheels are straight.
