Gramps's Lemon Cake Recipe Below -
Cake Flour: 3 cups
Baking Powder: 2 teaspoons
Baking Soda: 1/2 teaspoon
Salt: 1 teaspoon
Unsalted Butter: 1 cup, softened
Granulated Sugar: 2 cups (I use 2 1/4)
Fresh Lemon Zest: 3 tablespoons 3 large lemons
Large Eggs: 4
Vanilla Extract: 2 1/2 teaspoons
Full-Fat Sour Cream: 1 cup
Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice: 1/4 c
Whole Milk: 1/4 cup ( not cold)
Confectioners’ Sugar : 2 cups
Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice: 1/4 cup
Mix ingredients together / liquid into dry -
Bake at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes or until fork is clear
I make a sweeter glaze than my Grabdfather did...he always garnished with lemon and lime slices with red cherries for Christmas...
