Suilven Summit Wild Camp

Wild camping on the summit of Suilven. Suilven is a relatively small mountain in Scotland, at only 731m tall. I rode past the area in 2020 on the North Coast 500, and wanted to come back and hike in the area.

For this trip we brought the NatureHike Tagar 2 (sometimes spelt as NatureHike Taga 2), the same tent that Liv and I used for the Affric Kintail Way. It's a neat little budget ultralight tent that's spacious enough for the two of us.

We approached Suilven from the car park on Canisp Road, between Lochinver and Glencanisp Lodge. The total distance was 21km with 1200m of elevation gained, split out over 2 days. On the first day we walked in, and camped just beneath the Western summit and the highest point - Caisteal Liath. On the second day we tried to tackle Meall Meadhonach on the Eastern side, before heading back to the car park.
