The White-tailed Sea Eagle is considered the 4th largest eagle in the world, but with the largest average wingspan of any eagle. It serves the same ecological niche in Europe and Asia as its cousin the Bald Eagle serves in North America. It is also closely related to heaviest eagle in the world, the Steller’s Sea Eagle, found only in Northern Japan (Hokkaido) and the Russian Far East where they coexist. Coastal Norway, where this video was shot, is one of the best places other than Hokkaido to see this magnificent bird.
