You can perform a simple test at home to understand whether your kidneys are functioning properly. Take two bottles and label one as Morning and the other as Night. Collect all the urine passed during the daytime, from morning until night, in the first bottle. Then collect all the urine passed during the night, from 9 PM until the next morning, in the second bottle. If the amount of urine collected during the day is three times more than the urine collected at night, it indicates that your kidneys are healthy. However, if the amount of urine passed at night becomes higher than the daytime urine, it may be a sign that kidney function is beginning to decline.
