Here's a look back at our final ride before the park closed!
Although this John A. Miller-designed woodie opened at Six Flags America in 1986, the coaster is actually almost 100 years old. It was built in 1917 at Paragon Park in Massachusetts and was called Giant Coaster before being moved to Maryland. Much of the coaster was redesigned in 1932 after it was partially destroyed by fire, while another fire in 1963 destroyed the station, trains, double helix finale and part of the lift hill. The two bunny hops and helix were removed during that rebuild, but Six Flags restored the coaster as it originally was after the relocation.
This Six Flags park closed on Nov. 2, 2025, and was located near Washington DC in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
