Dog Renal Failure

My fight started 6/19/2017. My mom brought me to the vet because I was so lethargic and mostly sleeping. During February-March I'm already experiencing trembling and some shaking but my mom and dad thought maybe it was just cold and they put blanket on me or the let me sleep in their bed. Fast forward to May I went to the vet for our annual vaccine. My vet asked my mom about how eat, drink, poop, pee etc because I'm starting to lose weight. My parents were uneducated about Canine Disease or symptoms so they thought everything was just normal. They were busy all month and most of the time their not at home they can hardly see how I behave. Buy despite of that I still wag my tail and happily kisses them whenever they come home. After their busy schedules, my mom decided to bring me to vet and that's where my journey begins.

By the time they brought me to the hospital it was too late. My BUN level was 95 and CREA 5.1. The doctor gave me IV fluids, Antibiotics, vomit protection, appetite booster, and Prescription Diet Food. After 4 days, the doctor noticed that I'm so stress out especially when nobody is in the clinic during at night. I usually try to remove my IV. The following day, the doctor advised my mom to take me home and make me comfortable as much as possible. My BUN went down to 57 and CREA 4.8.

When the doctor said "make him comfortable as much as possible" my mom knew that it means "just give me a quality life" but she never gave up and did a lot of research and found the FIVE LEAF PHARMACY in US. She immediately ordered the product and started the 3 week cycle. During my 2nd week I was showing a good signs, I look like I'm back to my old self as if I'm not feeling any pain at all. My family was so happy to see me walk again little by little, I started barking to other dogs again, I tried to steal Beselding food again, I beg for treats and follow my mom wherever she goes. During the 3rd week I started to be lethargic again, we went back to the vet and my blood test were off the charts! BUN 133 CREA 7.5. My mom went home with a heavy heart but didn't give up. We still do our daily routine like Hydrotherapy twice a day, herbal drops 4 times a day then during the later part she gave me 8 times a day.

Monday night, it was my last night to walk with mama and daddy. Yes, you read it right! I walked down the street. Most of the time I look like I'm lost and distracted so my mom keeps calling me and when I don't walk, she carries me. (She's so sweet!)

Tuesday, as usual, my mom woke up 12am, 3am, 5am to give drops, 5:45 hydrotherapy, 6:15 breakfast. But for some reason I keep throwing up. All the food water they gave me, I just couldn't take it. So, they went to work my brothers went to school and me and Beselding were left alone as usual. But I was to weak and I couldn't control my urine and poop so as much as I wanna go to the bathroom I just couldn't stand but I still tried. So in short there were vomit, pee, poo with blood all over the house when my Kuya Jazi came home. He cleaned it without scolding me. Thank you very much Kuya Jazi. My mom came home at 3:00 p.m from work a little but late than usual because she went to the Chinese Pharmacy to buy herbs for me because she just doesn't wanna give up. She gave me the drops and the Chinese Herbs. But again, I just keep throwing up. My mom panicked and called my vet, the weather was so bad and I was so weak so she couldn't just put me on the bike like we use to do. So the vet came and gave me IV, antibiotics, vomit protection etc. but everything seems to be not effective because I keep throwing up.

It's almost midnight of 7/19/2017 my mom stood by my side she didn't sleep and just watched me all night. I want her to touch me all the time, if she doesn't I will panic and look for her. In the middle of the night I threw up a lot of blood, she called my brothers to say goodbye to me because she thought I was saying goodbye already but I was able to catch my breath.

Morning of 7/19/2017 before my dad left he said goodbye, thank you and kissed me. My mom didn't go to work and stood beside me. Her friend Keiko came to see me and also to say goodbye.

5:42 p.m 7/19/2017 I lost my battle and had my last breath in my mom's arms and Kuya Eric beside me. I cried aloud and my mom started to scream and cry. My kuya Jazi and daddy came home and I'm already gone. They cried but they are also happy for me because I can finally rest.
