This time we are taking a day trip from Fukuoka to Nagasaki, even though a typhoon was passing through! With our Kyushu regional pass, getting there was smooth (and we got to experience the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen).
Once in Nagasaki, we started the day with breakfast at Yoshinoya, then visited some of the city's most historic sites: Atomic Bomb Museum and
🕊️ Hypocenter & Peace Park – It felt different from Hiroshima, quieter but just as impactful.
Next, we explored Dejima Island, where we learned about Nagasaki’s role in international trade through its well-preserved buildings and history.
For a food break, we went to Chinatown, but many places were closed. Instead, we picked up some castella cakes and enjoyed the sunset at Nagasaki Seaside Park.
Before heading back, we made a quick stop to try champon noodles, a must-eat in Nagasaki. Then, we hopped back on the Shinkansen to Fukuoka. Once at Hakata Station, we ended the day with an amazing bowl of tsukemen from Kanedora—the perfect way to wrap up our trip! 🍜✨
