Franco Corelli and Giangiacomo Guelfi interviewed on Piero Agostini's show Tenore! (RAI, 1980s)

Another great treasure from Graziano Corelli's (Franco's close friend and second cousin) collection.
In this interview, once found years ago, then lost again and now republished, which must have been made sometime in the early 1980s (maybe 1985?), Piero Agostini interviews Franco Corelli with Giangiacomo Guelfi.
Unfortunately, we only have this 16 minute fragment of the interview, which may have been longer, but there is no trace of the full version so far, so we'll have to make do with this.
As well as reminiscing about some old memories, the two great singers try to diagnose together what went wrong in the generation of singers who followed them and what might be the cause of the decline of opera. And oh boy, do they have something to say!
(If you have trouble following the subtitles, I suggest you slow the video down to 0.75 speed, because they have a lot to communicate in a very short time.)

During the talk, there are also scattered extremely rare few-second clips of Corelli and his fellow artists from the 1950s and 1960s (for example, footage from the dress rehearsal of Adriana Lecouvreur in Naples in 1959, or backstage at the 1962 Trovatore in Salzburg, so keep your eyes glued to the screen.)

Un altro grande tesoro della collezione di Graziano Corelli (amico stretto e cugino di secondo grado di Franco).
In questa intervista, trovata anni fa, poi persa di nuovo e ora ripubblicata, che deve essere stata fatta nei primi anni '80 (forse 1985?), Piero Agostini intervista Franco Corelli con Giangiacomo Guelfi.
Sfortunatamente, abbiamo solo questo frammento di 16 minuti dell'intervista, che potrebbe essere stata più lunga, ma non c'è traccia della versione completa finora, quindi dovremo accontentarci di questo.
Oltre a ricordare alcuni vecchi ricordi, i due grandi cantanti cercano di diagnosticare insieme cosa è andato storto nella generazione di cantanti che li ha seguiti e quale potrebbe essere la causa del declino dell'opera. E oh cielo, hanno qualcosa da dire!
