In this video, we’ll explore SM Aura Premier, a luxurious gem tucked away in the vibrant heart of Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Philippines, where I got to soak in the upscale vibes and uncover some cool updates that make this mall a must-see. I remember stepping into this sleek, modern masterpiece, designed by Arquitectonica and EDGE Interior Designers, which opened its doors on May 17, 2013, as the 47th SM Supermall and the 13th in Metro Manila. The name “Aura,” derived from the chemical symbols for gold (Au) and radium (Ra), totally fits its radiant, elegant atmosphere. As one of Manila tourist attractions, tourist in Philippines will love this.

As I wandered through the mall’s 63,000-square-meter space at 26th Street corner McKinley Parkway, I was struck by the mix of high-end brands like Stuart Weitzman and Calvin Klein alongside local favorites like Kultura Filipino, all housed under a roof that’s earned a LEED Gold certification for its eco-friendly design—pretty impressive for the Philippines’ first mall to snag that honor! The newly revamped Director’s Club Cinemas, which reopened in December 2023 with plush Ferco Verona recliner seats and Dolby Atmos sound, had me tempted to catch a movie, especially after hearing about the third cinema added in 2024. I also couldn’t miss the Skypark, a multi-level green rooftop that’s like a mini-oasis with sculptures, botanical gardens, and al fresco dining spots where I imagined sipping a coffee while gazing at the BGC skyline.

Fun fact: the Skypark hosts yoga sessions and mini-concerts, making it a lively spot for both relaxation and events. I strolled past the 250-seat Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod, a serene nook for reflection, and learned it’s one of the few malls with a dedicated chapel. The SMX Convention Center on the third and fourth floors, spanning 6,148 square meters, caught my eye with its capacity for 2,480 guests—perfect for big events. Trivia time: the mall’s grand opening was star-studded, with Sarah Jessica Parker cutting the ribbon for The SM Store, and it’s still a hot topic on social media for its upscale vibe. Recent posts on X mentioned the Timezone arcade’s VR Dark Mars game, a thrilling four-seater adventure added in 2024, which I’m dying to try next time. While Tripadvisor reviews rave about the clean, safe vibe and diverse dining at places like Ramen Nagi and The Food Hall, some folks grumbled about a ₱50 IMAX takeout fee and parking woes during heavy rains, like when the lowest level flooded in 2013. Open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, SM Aura Premier feels like a luxurious escape, though I wish there were more proudly Filipino products, as one reviewer noted.
