The Fokker Jet Story - Part 1: Fokker F28 Fellowship

In this two part series, we'll be glancing over the history of an airliner model range that, while not the most successful model ever produced, was a watershed moment in modern aviation, with the launch of the Fokker F28 Fellowship of the Netherlands, built to compliment the earlier F27 Friendship turboprop, being the first jet airliner to visit many of the world's most remote regions, although due to the constraints of the builder's factory outside Amsterdam, which reduced the construction rate while pushing up the assembly costs, the F28 was a model largely unrealised in terms of potential, but would become a darling of the post-deregulation era for carriers across the globe regardless of its commercial shortcomings.
