Ingestible Snake Robot: A Game-Changer in Treating Digestive Diseases

A revolutionary ingestible snake robot could change the future of medical technology by helping doctors diagnose and treat digestive diseases. Known as the Single Actuator Wave-like (SAW) robot, it moves in a unique wave-like motion that can navigate through the intestines, carrying a tiny camera to provide clear visuals of the digestive system.

Developed by Mechanical Engineer David Zarrouk at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, the robot is designed using 3D-printed interlocking pieces that allow it to slither like a real snake, making it suitable for biological applications, including colonoscopies and surgeries.
