Taking a walk from Spitz an der Donau in Austria to Hinterhaus Castle Ruins. Spitz is a market town in the Wachau Valley on the left bank of the Danube.
First mentioned in the year 830, the town of Spitz an der Donau is home to various historic buildings. From the Gothic church on the main square I follow some old alleys and roads to the remains of Hinterhaus castle which towers above the Wachau Valley. From here visitors can enjoy a nice view of Spitz an der Donau, the surrounding wine yards and the Danube River.
