He was not her past but the man's past is changing as it is rewriting her past and her future through the lake house where they both lived separately in different times(2004 & 2006). Somehow, the time stood still at the lake house, where Alex living in 2004 can communicate thru letters(mailbox) with Kate living in 2006. The past changes as it rewrites the future. Can Kate prevent Alex's untimely death and rewrite his future with her? Only time will tell.
