Throughout the years, we've fielded numerous tech calls from customers and curious KTM owners alike asking why their bikes won't start. In the garage, on the trail, or at the track - you'll be unplugging, replugging, pulling fuses, and hitting the button to no avail. This does not make for a fun day...
Fortunately, a little preventative maintenance goes a long way. In this video, we go to the most common source of these issues: Water intrusion in the plugs behind the headlight causing weak connections, shorts, and other issues. This can come from pressure washing, riding in wet conditions, or simply condensation in some cases.
Kill switch failures, starter button failures, and other electrical gremlins can often be traced back to these connections. A little dielectric grease is an additional line of defense you can use to help limit your downtime and maximize your throttle therapy.
