Natural Beauty in Western North Carolina | Fall Leaf Colors (1 Hour)

Since the storm and floods in Western North Carolina, I've seen hundreds of photos and videos of the destruction in and around our hometown of Asheville. The heaviness of that was getting to me one day, so I decided to make a video that shows how stunningly beautiful this part of the world is, especially this time of year. Kind of a reminder to myself of what we still have. I feel so lucky to enjoy the fall leaf colors in our mountains every year--I wanted to share that with everyone who's far away and with everyone who's nearby but whose focus has been consumed by the destruction. To be clear, this is no way a knock on people posting photos and videos of the devastation. It's important to let the rest of the world know what happened here because our community needs help and will continue to for a while. It's important for people to share their trauma as a means of processing it and hopefully moving through it. It's also important for us to not forget how lovely this area is, even after the storm. This hour long video is a meditation on the natural beauty of Western North Carolina, all filmed in the weeks after Helene. We hope it brings you some peace and relaxation.
