On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Pamela S. Douglas, MD, was honored with a Distinguished Faculty Award from the Duke Medical Alumni Association during a special ceremony on the opening night of Duke's annual Medical Alumni Weekend.
Dr. Douglas holds the Ursula Geller Professor of Research in Cardiovascular Diseases in Duke's Department of Medicine and she is an internationally recognized leader in medicine, with more than 700 peer-reviewed publications and more than 35 clinical practice guidelines to her name.
Ranked among the top one percent of most-cited scientists in the world, Dr. Douglas has shaped national health policy and advanced clinical science – driving improvements in evidence-based guidelines, clinical trials, imaging, informatics, and data analysis.
Through her vision and leadership, Dr. Douglas has not only advanced clinical practice, but fundamentally reshaped how we approach imaging science, improving care for patients worldwide.
