Is Erin Patterson REALLY the Monster? (NEW FACTS) | True Crime

Erin Trudi Patterson, a 50-year-old Australian, was found guilty in July 2025 of three counts of murder and one of attempted murder after serving a Beef Wellington lunch laced with death cap mushrooms. Three of her estranged in-laws died, and a fourth guest survived after a liver transplant.

Though Patterson claimed it was an accident, prosecutors presented damning evidence, including search history, a fake cancer claim, and CCTV footage of her dumping a dehydrator used in the meal. After a 46-day trial, the jury took less than ten minutes to convict her. The case, dubbed the “mushroom murders,” has sparked global attention, documentaries, and an upcoming ABC drama. Patterson awaits sentencing.
